Although I stay in Maidenhead I spend most of my time in Africa now and inparticular Malawi where I run my own carnivore conservation project in Kasungu National Park. In 2006 I was made redundent from my job at Mars confectionery after 30 years. This was very fortunate for me as I had just requested early retirement so that I could spend my life in Africa conserving the wildlife. I was able to combine my redundancy with my retirement plan and left the company with a big smile on my face. I have visited 8 African countries and worked on 10 different projects including, FGASA training, cheetah in Botswana, Big 5, and wild dog, Rhino and reptiles in Swaziland, lions, wild dog and game survey in Zimbabwe and trained scouts in Malawi.I have also worked on a wild dog project in Hluhluwe in South Africa and a baboon release program in Malawi working for the Born Free Foundation. People related projects include, ‘street boys’in Swaziland, helping to build orphanage in Zimbabwe and other community based projects in Malawi.
